BETSY E. HOLLAND

Betsy Ellis Holland, 77, passed away Friday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Betsy was born in Johnston County on June 22, 1931, to the late Ted C. Ellis and Hilda Holt Ellis. She was married to the late J.S. Holland Jr. Betsy was a member of Brogden United Methodist Church.
A service to celebrate Betsy's life will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. at Brogden United Methodist Church with the Revs. Shirley Ward and Wade Sullivan officiating. A private interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Betsy is survived by her sons, Dexter Holland and wife, Diane, of Grantham and Ellis Ray Holland and wife, Deana, of Goldsboro; her daughter, Peggy Payne of Princeton; her brother, Jimmy Ellis and wife, Ann, of Long Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brogden United Methodist Church, 2919 U.S. 117 Hwy. S., Dudley, N.C. 28333.
The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the church and other times at the home of Ellis and Deana Holland, 3203 Huntington Place, Goldsboro.
Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home.
