MARJORIE P. RADFORD

PIKEVILLE -- Marjorie Pierce Radford, 78, died Saturday afternoon in Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted tonight at 7 at Nahunta Friends Meeting. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Radford-Herring Cemetery near her home.

Born March 3, 1930, in Wayne County to the late Bertie L. and Alma Montague Pierce, she was the widow of William Aaron "Humpy" Radford, who died July 1, 2003.

She was preceded in death by a stepson, Waldo Radford.

Marjorie was a long-time member of Nahunta Friends Meeting.

Surviving are her sons, Gary Radford and Phil Radford and wife, Robin, all of Pikeville; daughters, Jackie Joseph and husband, George, of Goldsboro, Katherine Woodard and husband, Roger, of Buffalo, N.Y. and Brenda Pittman and husband, Edward, of Fremont; brother, Mack Pierce of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Howell, Christina Pittman, C.J. Radford, Brooke Radford, Paul Woodard, Matthew Radford and Daniel Radford; and one great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Howell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Nahunta Friends Meeting Building Fund, 2537 N.C. 581 N., Pikeville, N.C., 27863.

Arrangements are being handled by Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton.
