DORA PERRY

Aug. 25, 1934-Jan. 8, 2009

Dora Perry, 75, of 2681 N.C. Hwy. 55 W., Mount Olive, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., with Mr. Chuck Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery, 1191 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Blane Smith performing the committal rights, Also, a viewing and wake will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m.

Dora was born on Aug. 25, 1934, to the late Wright and Ellen Pigford Lanier. Two sons, Mr. Vernon and Mr. Theo Perry, both preceded her in death.

Mrs. Perry graduated from Rose Hill High School in the state of North Carolina. Dora continued her education at Hunter College in the state of New York and graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) with honors.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Murphy Boney and wife, Sharon, of New York; one sister/daughter, Sara Francis and husband, Samuel, of North Carolina; one brother/son, Ivory Lanier and wife, Debra, of North Carolina; six sisters, Mary Pride and husband, Clarence, of New York and Emma Costin of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a best friend/sister, Adele Graham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American National Red Cross, 600 N. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
