SNOW HILL -- Mrs. Alice Sipfle Cooper Newcomb, 72, passed away Wednesday morning at her home.

Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Phil Wood and the Rev. Alan Joyner officiating. Committal services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Newcomb was born Feb. 26, 1936, the daughter of W.T. Sipfle and Bertha Thornton Sipfle.

Mrs. Newcomb was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, the Kinston Single's Club, and the Snow Hill Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Newcomb is survived by a daughter, Renea Cruse and son-in-law, James Cruse, both of Goldsboro; a son, Bobby Cooper of Selma and daughter-in-law, Karen Cooper of Goldsboro; a brother, William E. "Billy" Sipfle of Greenville and grandchildren, Michele Strickland of Raleigh, Jamie Weeks and husband, Allan, of Goldsboro, and Blake Cooper of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends tonight following the service and other times at the residence, 106 N.W. Fourth St., Snow Hill.

Arrangements are being handled by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service of Snow Hill.
