MOUNT OLIVE -- Mr. Bowden, 69, died Friday morning at his home at 147 Durwood Holmes Lane in the Summerlin Crossroads Community.
Funeral services for James Arthur "Tiny" Bowden will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Jackson officiating.
He was the son of the late Willie Arthur Bowden and Amita Phillips Bowden and he was retired with the N.C. Dept. of Transportation, Duplin County Unit.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Holmes Bowden; two daughters, Joyce Ann Daniels and Patty Ann Murphy, three grandchildren, Patrick Daniels, Chris Daniels, and Shana Murphy; a brother, Buddy Bowden; a sister, Jill B. Sutton, all of Mount Olive, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after the service and at other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
Burial will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Pate Cemetery.
