MOUNT OLIVE -- Jasper F. Taylor, 90, 1376 Tram Road in the Scott's Store community, died Monday night at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, New Year's Day, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. Conducting will be Joseph E. Scott. Burial will be in the Taylor Family Cemetery, White Flash community.

A retired farmer and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he was one of two children born of his late parents, George Frank and Jenny Taylor.

Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Taylor Brogden of Dudley; five sons, George Roland "Poly" Taylor, Stephen Lavell Taylor, and Chestley Julius Taylor, all of Mount Olive, Virgil Jackson Taylor of Kenansville, and Ronnie Donnell Taylor of Clinton; six stepchildren; a sister, Ethel Taylor Dail of the Rose-wood section of Goldsboro; 23 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, Jasper Franklin Taylor Jr., and a very special friend, Gertie J. Dail.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 7 to 9 and at other times at the home of Brenda and Lavell Taylor, 1380 Tram Road, Mount Olive.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home of Mount Olive.
