Rose Marie Grantham Rose, 80, passed away on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Joe Ben Sauls officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Rose was born in Wayne County on Oct. 8, 1928 to the late James Clarence Grantham and Nannie Rose Grantham. She was the owner and operator of Wayne Poultry Company and was a member of First Christian Church.
Rose is survived by her children, Kay Hill and husband, Charles, of Pine Level; Clarence Rose and wife, Jan, of Goldsboro, Connie Carter and husband, Gene, of Ashland, Va.; and Tim Rose and wife, Gale, of Goldsboro; her sisters, Janet Pearson of Clinton and Joyce Lamb of Ingold; her sister-in-law, Viola Grantham; her grandchildren, April Jones and husband, Tim, of Kenly, Ashlee Hill, Sarah Carter, Clark Rose and Allison Rose; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jones and Hunter Jones.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Grantham, Robert E. Grantham and Harold Grantham; and her sister, Sarah Johnson.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends Sunday following the funeral service and other times at her residence.
