MARGARET E. HORNE

May 31, 1922-Dec. 24, 2008

Margaret Evelyn Howell Horne went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve at the Laurels of Forest Glenn nursing home in Garner.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pike Cemetery.

Margaret was born to James Edward Monroe Howell and Annie Edwards Howell on May 31, 1922.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Kenneth Horne Sr.

She is survived by her two sons, J.K. Horne Jr., of Raleigh, and Jim Horne and wife, Susan of Cary; her daughter, Edie Poole and husband, Gary of Chapel Hill; 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister Joyce H. Aycock and husband, Jake, of Wallace. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Winnie H. Howell of Knightdale and Cherry L. Howell of Pfafftown.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Walton; her son-in-law, Vaughn Walton; her granddaughter, Jenny Walton; her sister, Maxine H. Mott; her sister-in-law, Mary Alice Howell; and her brothers, Rudolph Howell, Johnnie G. Howell and Jimmy L. Howell.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.

The family wishes to thank the Laurels of Forest Glenn staff for taking care of their mother the last six years.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Victory Free Will Baptist Church, 1806 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, where Margaret was a member.
