SWANNANOA -- Essie Lee Roberts Triplett, 87, passed away Monday.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Bud Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

She was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Buncombe County, where she had been a resident all of her life. She was the daughter to the late Wallace and Myrtle Garrison Roberts.

Mrs. Triplett is preceded in death by her sisters, Fannie and Nell Elkins; and brothers, Henry and Robert Roberts.

Mrs. Triplett is survived by her daughter, Barbara Anderson of Swannanoa; son, Arlow Triplett and wife, Janice of Daytona Beach, Fla.; sisters, Corda Mae Maney of Fletcher, Lillian Stewart of Asheville and Erma Highsmith of Pikeville; brother, Eugene Roberts and wife, Ruby of Asheville; grandchildren, Tony Anderson, George Anderson, Lee Ann Lewis and Arlow Triplett III; great-grandchildren, Wil Lewis, Lilly Lewis, Faith Triplett, William Arlow Triplett, Kayland France, Kelly France and James Cole Hanes.

Flowers are accepted and appreciated. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to consider Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Neuse Lodge No. 6, 113 N. John St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Arrangements are being handled by Harwood Home for Funerals, 208 W. State St.
