JAMES "JIMMY" LAWS

James "Jimmy" Dwight Laws, 40, slipped quietly into his heavenly father's arms on Friday morning, Dec. 19, 2008 at Duke University Medical Center.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, Highway 111 South, with visitation afterwards.
Jimmy was a native of Wayne County born on Nov. 10, 1968 to Dwight and Linda Laws.
He is survived by his father, Dwight Laws and his wife, Sallie Hinton Laws, of LaGrange; his mother, Linda P. Starling and her husband, Bill Starling, of Princeton; his partner, John Grant; a special friend and cousin, Gouldie; three step-brothers, Jack Starling and his wife, Kaye, of Smithfield, Donald Starling and his wife, Lynda, of Germany, and Marty Whitley and his wife, Mott, of Florence, S.C.; one step-sister, Angie S. Heil and her husband, Scott, of Clayton; and four special buddies, Leo, Gretta, Fritz and Levi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Walker Memorial United Methodist Church, Duke Research Center or to the charity of one's choice.
The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro where condolences may be posted at www.howellfuneral.com.
