James Bartholomew "Sollie" Norris Sr., 87, Chaptico, Md., died Monday at his residence.
The family will receive friends tonight from 4 to 8 in Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 7. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, Md., with Fr. Francis Early officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born Oct. 1, 1921, in Avenue, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Stewart and Alice Selina Wise Norris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Veronica Hall Norris.
He is survived by four children.
Arrangements are being handled by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Pa.
