DOROTHY B. MOORE

April 6, 1924-Dec. 17, 2008

Dorothy Brown Moore, a resident of Kirkwood, passed away on Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Sauls and the Rev. Jimmy Earp officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Dorothy was born in Wayne County on April 6, 1924, to the late Frank Brown and Emma Cannon Brown. She was married to the late Willie Allen Moore. Dorothy was a member of the congregation at the Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughters, Wilma Sauls and husband, Billy, of Morrisville, Dorothy Fields of Princeton and Linda Page and husband, Allen, of Willow Springs; her sons, Willie Ray Moore of Goldsboro and Kenneth Lee Moore and wife, Elaine, of Millbrook, Ala.; her sisters, Penelope Geist of Goldsboro, Christine Stone of Pikeville and Ann Rhodes of Patetown; her brothers, Eugene Brown and Selby Brown, both of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dwight Moore; her grandson, Willie Ray Moore Jr.; her granddaughter, Karen Sauls Maynard; her sister, Geraldine Shelton; and her brother, Frank Brown.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 336 Nahunta Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.

The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Willie Ray Moore, 308 Saddlewood Drive, Goldsboro.
