Margie Lee Mooring Jones, 72, died Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Lee and Maggie Wethington Mooring and wife of the late Hubert Theodore "Peanut" Jones. She was also preceded in death by her son, Hubert Sidney Jones; her sisters, Bobbie Lucille Mooring, Sadie Mooring Wortham; her brother Ralph James Mooring; and her in-laws, Kermit S. and Dollie Jones.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Alice J. Jones and husband, Greg Jones; sisters, Shirley M. Hill and husband, Burnice N. Hill, Peggy M. Jones and husband, Joseph E. Jones, Judy M. Jones and husband, Albert Leo Jones; brother, Ray B. Mooring and wife, Doris S. Mooring; sisters -in-law, Lillian B. Mooring and Dorothy Jones Mitchell; brother-in-law, George E. Jones and wife, Geraldine Jones; grandchildren, Heather, Karen and Hannah Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church and at other times will be at the home of her daughter, 633-A Overman Road, Goldsboro.
