ALICE EVANS

July 17, 1925-Nov. 29, 2008

DUDLEY -- Alice Talmadge Malpass Evans, 83, went to be with her Lord on Saturday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Horace Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Alice was born in Wayne County on July 17, 1925, to the late Edgar Malpass, and Bessie and Kirby Hamm. She was married for 58 years to the late A.J. Evans. Alice was a former member of Oak Heights Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed the opportunity of watching gospel television, WHFL-TV 43.

Alice is survived by her sons, Ray A. Evans and wife, Gloria of Goldsboro and David A. Evans and Louise Holland of Dudley; her daughters, Linda Robinson and husband, George of Houston, Texas, Faye Merlin and husband, Al of Dudley and Ann Pospichel of Mount Olive; her sister, Edna McKeel of Goldsboro; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Cecil Evans and Ricky Evans; and her sisters, Louise Parrish Evans and Margaret Kleinert.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to WHFL-TV 43, 109 Industry Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 621 Outlaw Road, Dudley.
