LUCILLE HINNANT SNIPES

Lucille H. Snipes, 98, of Kenly, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at home with her family.

Funeral services will be today at 7 p.m. at Kenly F.W.B. Church, with the Rev. Howard Scott officiating. Family will receive friends after the service. Burial will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Kenly Cemetery.

She was born in Johnston County on July 29, 1910 to the late H.A. and Mero Jones Hinnant. She was a member of Kenly Free Will Baptist Church, where she was very active as a Sunday School teacher and the Women's Auxiliary.

Surviving family are a son, Joseph Millard Snipes and wife, Sue, of Kenly; a daughter, Phillis S. Edwards and husband, Bobby, of Princeton; brother, Charles Hinnant of Kenly; grandchildren, Sharon Jones and husband Randy, Donna Jones and husband, Ken, Mary Jo Grantham and husband, Reggie, and Kristi Sue Aycock and husband, Brad; great-grandchildren, Brittany Jones, Christina Jones, Joey Grantham, Trey Jones, Brandon Jones, Matthew Grantham, Hannah Aycock and Ethan Aycock.

She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph Millard Snipes; sisters, Clara Edwards, Marie Edwards, and broter, J.P. Hinnant.
