JOY A. PATE

PIKEVILLE -- Joy Ann Pate, 40, passed away Saturday at her home at 2129 Big Daddy's Road.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 8:30 at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont and other times at the residence. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Free Will Baptist Church in Pikeville where she was a member. Pastor Doug Belvin will officiate. A private burial will be held by the immediate family.
Joy was born in Wayne County on July 25, 1968, to the late Billy Everette Pate and Virginia Joy Lancaster Pate.
She is survived by her brother, Stacey Pate, and his wife, Rhonda, of Pikeville; a sister, Debbie Parrott, of Wilmington; her grandmother, Ethel Pate, of Fremont; an uncle, Gerald Pate, and wife, Barbara, of Pikeville; an aunt, Tommy Ann Rothrock, and husband, Tommy, of Wilmington; and two nephews, Damon Pate and Josh Pate.
