CHARLES D. SLOCUMB JR.

SHALIMAR, Fla. -- Col. Charles Dewey Slocumb Jr., 93, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Oct. 24 at home.
Funeral services were held Oct. 28 in Shalimar, Fla., with burial at Barrancas National Cemetery at Naval Air Station, Pensecola, Fla.
He was the son of Charles Dewey Slocumb and Lydia Winslow Slocumb.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Carraway Slocumb, and a brother, William Junius Slocumb.
He is survived by sons, William Carraway Slocumb and wife, Barbara, and Charles Dewey Slocumb III and wife, Anne; sister, Ruth Slocumb Emlet; grandchildren Christine, Christopher, Melissa, Dewey IV and Kathy Slocumb; and great-grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew Slocumb.
