EDNA O. WOOTEN

Edna Odessa Wooten, lovingly known by her family as "Poss," 66, 508 E. Walnut St., Apt. 105 A., formerly of Staten Island, N.Y., entered into eternal rest on Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at noon at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, LaGrange, with pastor Larry M. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road in Goldsboro. A viewing will be held Wednesday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., from 2 until 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7 p.m.

Edna was born June 2, 1942, in the Best Station Community to the late Elbert Sr. and Janie Lewis Wooten. Two brothers, Kirby Wooten and Reginald Wooten, preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her loving memories are one daughter, Regina Wooten of Bronx, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Alicia Wooten of Atlanta, Ga. and Calvin Wooten of Staten Island, N.Y.; six sisters, Lillie Coley (Alvin) of Fayetteville, Essie Wooten of LaGrange, Cleo Warren of Decatur, Ga., Hilda Farmer (William), Angeline Hamilton and Bunnie Wooten of Goldsboro; three brothers, Elbert Wooten Jr., Johnny Wooten (Bessie) of Goldsboro and Bobby Wooten (Cheryl) of Wilmington.

The family is receiving friends at 2543 New Hope Road, LaGrange.
