ELEANOR A. HOWE

Mrs. Eleanor Adele Marie Howe, 95, passed peacefully away in her sleep on Sunday at the Sterling House in Goldsboro.

A private memorial service will be held in New Hampshire.

Eleanor was born in Concord, N.H. on Jan. 18, 1913, to the late Frederick and Annie Hook of Concord, N.H. She was married to the late Morey G. Howe, a pharmacist and original owner of Howe's Pharmacy in Goffstown, N.H.

Mrs. Howe is survived by her daughters, Dianne Allgaier and husband retired Lt. Col. William A. Allgaier III, of Goldsboro, Dr. Samantha E. Payne and husband Dr. Dan Payne, of Hilo, Hawaii, Adria H. Johnson and husband Kenneth R. Johnson, of Elsah, Ill. and Ogunquit, Maine; her seven grandchildren, Debra L. Allgaier, of Clayton, Jennifer M. Herr, of Brandon, Fla., Dr. Jessica D. Payne, of Cambridge, Mass., Jamin T. Johnson and wife Julie, of Eagan, Minn., Nicholas H. Johnson, of Elsah, Ill., David J. Gagne Jr. and wife Tsugiko, of Hilo, Hawaii, Kimberly L. Howe, of Cambridge, Mass.; and one great-grandchild, Benjamin M. Johnson, of Eagan, Minn.

Mrs. Howe was preceded in death by her daughter Moreen Howe.

Mrs. Howe was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a joyful outlook on life and a great sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening and loved tennis, skiing, skating, and the beach. Her favorite place was the Marginal Way, an ocean walk between Ogunquit and Perkin's Cove, Maine. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Manchester, N.H., and attended the Christian Science Church in Kinston.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Sterling House for their devoted care over the past five years.

Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
