Mrs. Mary Elizabeth House Nelson, 92, died Monday.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Riverside Christian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson, a native of Bethel, spent her youth in the Gardnerville community of Pitt County, and was a graduate of Chicod High School. She lived most of her adult life in the Epworth community of Craven County, and had been a resident of Spring Arbor in Kinston for a number of years. She was a member of Riverside Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clayton Nelson; son, Clayton Earl Nelson; two sisters; and eight brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Nelson Brown and husband, Jerry of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Elaine Wood, Joey Nelson, Natalie Boone, Amy Elizabeth McCorkle, Jeff Brown, Cara Ringer, and Ryan Brown; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Myrtle Strickland and Teenie Whitford, both of Fremont.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
