Marion "My Mernie" Turnage Jones, 66, died Saturday at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethany and Friends Cemetery near Cox's Mill. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Jones was born in Wayne County on Jan. 20, 1942, to the late Luby and Mabel Bass Turnage.
She is survived by one child; one sister.
