Clara Lou Grantham Britt, 72, 105 Odom Mill Road, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Family members will greet friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Barfield Grantham and wife of the late Wendell "Doc" Britt. She was a member of Eureka Christian Church and formerly employed with J.C. Penney's for 30 years.
Mrs. Britt is survived by a son, Charles "C.M." Britt of Mount Olive; a daughter, Paula Britt Thornton, of Mount Olive; a sister, Julia Sutton of Calypso; two grandsons, Charles Jason Britt and Joshua Britt Thornton both of Mount Olive; one granddaughter, Ciera Britt of Mount Olive; and one great-grandson, Jayden Ryan Smith of Mount Olive.
