STEVEN C. WORTH

Steven Charles Worth, 61, passed away suddenly on Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Mount Olive with the Rev. Ronnie Wise and the Rev. Worth Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Steven was born in Jacksonville, Fla. on Aug. 15, 1947, to the late Steven Tracy Worth and Nellie Pless Worth. He retired as an officer with the Department of Corrections in Wayne County following a period of declining health. Steven had also worked for the Wayne County Dispatch Office and had served on the Grantham Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frances R. Worth; his son, Chris Worth and wife, Brandi of Mount Olive; his daughters, Karen W. Hunt and husband, Jesse of Mount Olive, Tracy Rose and husband, Greg of LaGrange, and Christy Burkens of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Justin Hunt, Austin Rose, Courtney Worth, Autom Burkens, Turner Worth, Hunter Rose and Isaac Worth; and his sister, Jonan Leopard of Jacksonville, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mission Fund at Unity Baptist Church, P.O. Box 728 Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church on Highway 55 in Mount Olive and other times at their home, 2490 Stevens Mill Road, Goldsboro.
