PRINCETON -- James Bernice "Jake" Woodard, 78, died Wednesday after a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
Mr. Woodard was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Johnston County to the late Alton and Betty Lee Fields Woodard, and he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Jones Woodard; daughters; son; sister; brothers; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
