EDWARD N. OVERMAN SR.
Died Sept. 30, 2008
LUCAMA -- Edward "Papa" Neal Overman Sr., went to rest with the Lord on Tuesday at Wilson Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will follow at Pikeville Cemetery.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a great friend to those who knew him. Edward was the owner of Overman's Used Cars Inc. in Pikeville for 40 years.
He was the son of the late Johnnie W. and Ruth H. Overman of Lucama.
Surviving to cherish his memories is his wife of 45 years, Hazel M. Overman of the home; three children, Teresa Lawrence and her husband, Carl of Lucama, Neal Overman of Lucama and Rick Overman of Lucama; two granddaughters, Heather Bulla and her husband, Michael of Fremont and Brittany Lawrence of Lucama.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, John Charles Overman.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont and other times at the residence in Lucama.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
