Josephine Davis Pate, 91, passed away on Tuesday at the Brian Center.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Adam Seate officiating.
Josephine was born in Wayne County on Oct. 16, 1916 to the late Joseph P. Davis and Stella Pike Davis. She was married to the late Claiborne L. Pate. Josephine was a retired clerk having worked with the Cloth Barn and Piece Goods Store in Goldsboro. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Martha Hoggard and husband, Tim of Micanopy, Fla.; her grandchildren, Max Hoggard and Molly Hoggard; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Edward Davis, Clara Lee Sasser, Lena Sasser, and Beulah May.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or to Nahunta Friends Church, 2537 N.C. Highway 581 N., Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
