Eleanor Gray Varnell Decot, 67, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Goldsboro Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Al Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Eureka Cemetery.

Eleanor was born in Wayne County on July 11, 1941, to the late Jimmie Varnell and Erma Howell Varnell. She was a member of the Goldsboro Wesleyan Church. Eleanor loved the Lord and was a faithful church attendee all her life. She was known for her lovely smile and her willingness to always help, whenever asked.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Danny L. Decot; her sons, Jimmie Terrell and wife, Terre of Goldsboro and Steven Terrell and wife, Tina of Virginia; her daughter, Teresa Hastings and husband, Tim of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Shawn Casey, Aaron Terrell, Blake Terrell, Hunter Terrell, Madison Terrell, Destiney Hicks and Susan Hicks; her sister, Rosa Lancaster and husband, George of Jacksonville; and her adopted son, Michael Wiggins and wife, Jessica and their children, Andrew and Zachery.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Goldsboro Wesleyan Church, 217 Mount Airy Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 201 Worth Drive, Goldsboro.
