William Murphy "Bill" Vaughn III, 28, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jackie Ham and Chrystal McCullen officiating. Interment will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Bill was born in Wayne County on Dec. 21, 1979 to Dolly Bass of Snow Hill and William M. Vaughn II of Goldsboro. He was a student at Cape Fear Community College.
In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by his sisters, Amanda Smith of Wilmington and Billie Jean McDonough of Goldsboro; his brothers, Nick Smith of Clayton, Christopher Smith of Goldsboro and Murphy Vaughn of Goldsboro; his maternal grandparents, Mack and Betty Jo Bass of Kinston; his paternal grandmother, Katie Vaughn Collier of Goldsboro; his fiancée, Maya Owens; and his special K-9 friends, Marley and T.J. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Jackie Ham, Patsy Williams, Terry Bass, Eddie Bass, Susie Pate, Linda Grant, Betty Jo Smith and Gaynelle Wall.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sarah Anderson; his paternal grandfather, Murphy Vaughn Sr. and his uncle, Johnny Bass.
The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home, 100 Woodside Circle, Goldsboro.
