JIMMY L. MITCHELL

Jimmy Leroy Mitchell, 69, passed away on Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Forsythe and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Jimmy was born in Wayne County on Oct. 25, 1938, to the late Aaron G. Mitchell and Louise Fields Mitchell. He was the owner and operator of Mitchell's Wrecker and Towing in Goldsboro. Jimmy had also worked for 13 years as the service manager for Cobb Motor Company. He was an avid fisherman and had a great love for softball.

For those who knew him, Jimmy will be remembered by his charm, his smile and his love for people. He will be missed by many. The love in Jimmy's life were God, family and friends. Jimmy was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church and a former member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist church, where he served the church as Sunday School Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, deacon and in many other capacities.

Jimmy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Reba Wiggins Mitchell; his daughter, Michelle M. West and husband, Chip of Princeton; his brother, Charles Mitchell of Princeton; and the apple of his eye, his precious granddaughter, Hannah West. He is also survived by his special K-9 friend, Pepe'.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 2127 West U.S. 70 Highway., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home, 1815 Westover Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
