PIKEVILLE -- Helen Marie Hall Newsome, 69, 228 Booker Street, peacefully passed from this earthly journey into the eternal presence of her Lord on Sunday at her residence.
She will be celebrated during the homegoing service Friday at 11 a.m. at the White Oak Grove Original Free Will Baptist church with pastor George Wiggins, officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.
Precious and sacred memories shall remain with her devoted husband, Horace Newsome of the home; her loving daughters, Gwenda Denise Hobbs of the home, Linda Newsome Farrish, Cassandra Phillips, Kimberly Suggs, all of Durham; sisters, Gladys Wilson of Washington, D.C., Brenda Hall of Goldsboro; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
