Vanderbilt Lane Jr., 72, 703 Prince Ave., passed from this earthly labor to heavenly reward Wednesday at his residence.
His life will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at L.N. Forbes Tabernacle with Bishop L.N. Forbes officiating. He will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park North.
Beautiful memories remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Dora Williams Lane; two brothers, Charles of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Jerry of Georgia; four sisters, Mary Grantham, Chirley Newsome, Carolyn Withrow and Lela Lane, all od Georgia; his daughter, Alice Holland of Goldsboro; his sons, Perry Williams of Goldsboro, Timothy Williams of Roselle, N.J., Abdual Muhummad of Jersey, N.J.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be tonight from 2 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro with the family present to receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
