PIKEVILLE -- Fannie Woodle Howell, 96, 200 Collingwood Drive, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning surrounded by her family at home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

Mrs. Howell was born in Dillion, S.C. on July 30, 1912, to the late Luke and Maggie Owens Woodle. She was the oldest living member of Mount Nelson Missionary Baptist Church in Eureka.

She is survived by one son, Tommy Howell of the home; three daughters, Lynda Carol Ivey and husband, Major of Fremont, Bonnie Von Holten and husband, Leon of Missouri and Patricia Borchert and husband, Jerry of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Howell; a daughter, Janet Ward; and two sisters, Ruby Renfrow and Ada Turberville.

The family will receive friends following the service Saturday at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Lynda Carol Ivey, 211 Bryant Street in Fremont.
