WILLIAM R. JARRELL

William Richard "Bill" Jarrell, 60, 601 Goldleaf Drive, died early Thursday at the Brian Center in Goldsboro.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel.

Born in Charlotte, he was the son of the late William Garland and Virginia Inez Mitchell Jarrell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter Badge and the Purple Heart. He was retired as a computer consultant and was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Jarrell is survived by his wife, Nanette "Nan" Jarrell; and two sons, John Daniel Jarrell and James Mitchell Jarrell, both of Goldsboro.

Family members will greet friends Saturday at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.
