LORRAINE B. WARD

Sadie Lorraine Barwick Ward, 95, passed away Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Lorraine was born in Wayne County on June 22, 1913 to the late George Washington Barwick and Charity Ann Lee Barwick. She was married to the late James W. Ward. Lorraine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Gary Corbett officiating. Entombment will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
Lorraine is survived by her nieces, Donnie Lanning of Hendersonville, Vera Howard and husband, Donald, of Longmeadow, Mass. and Christine Herring of Norfolk, Va.; her nephews, George Tripp and wife, Faye, of Dunn, and Franklin D. Tripp and wife, Faye, of LaGrange; and numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to the Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S., 1000 Eleventh St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Seymour Funeral Home.
