Alroujan Sentele Smith, known as "John Lee" to his family and friends, departed this earthly life on July 31, two days following his 22nd birthday.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Pentecostal Holy Church, 600 E. Pine St. with pastor, Elder Willie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemtery.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four sons, Kysheen Smith, Alrovonte Jones, Syliq Mayo and Jasahn Smith all of Goldsboro; mother and her companion, Lynette Price and Fernando "Chilly" Robinson of Goldsboro; father and stepmother, Alfonzo and Monique Smith Jr. of New York; maternal grandparents, Jonah and Bertha Strickland of Goldsboro; paternal grandparents, Alfonzo and Bessie Smith Sr. of New York; adopted grandmother, Mae Ola Robinson of Goldsboro; one sister, Ashley Strickland of Goldsboro; four brothers, Daijuan Price and Thomas Alston both of Goldsboro and Alfonzo Smith III and Terrance Smith both of New York; four aunts, three uncles, several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 until 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, 900 South George St. The family will receive friends at 908 B. Carver Drive and will assemble there in preparation for the funeral procession.
