Hilda Grissom Perry, 81, passed away on Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Hilda's life at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Hilda was born in Vance County on July 10, 1927, to the late Claude Grissom and Myrtle Hicks Grissom. She was married for 57 years to the late Malcolm Glenn Perry Sr. Hilda was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
Hilda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Perry Ohm and husband, Stacey, of Raleigh and Donna Perry Mercer and husband, John of Goldsboro; her son, Malcolm Glenn Perry Jr. of Rocky Mount; and her grandchildren, Stephen and Michelle Ohm, Danny and Summer Langston, Lexi Mercer and Jordan, Trey and Lauren Perry.
She is also survived by a special niece, Mary Perry Hunt; her loving caregivers, Susan Martin and Christie Crawford; and a special K-9 friend, Buddy.
