HOWARD L. CHASE
March 10, 1946-July 29, 2008
SNOW HILL -- Mr. Howard Loyd Chase, 62, passed away Tuesday morning at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Cliff Harvell and the Rev. Larry Turlington officiating. Committal Services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday at Snow Hill Cemetery.
Howard was a native of Greene County born March 10, 1946, the son of the late Loyd Wayne Chase and Mildred Holt Chase. He was a lifelong resident of the Shine Community and avid outdoorsman with a great love for hunting and fishing. Prior to retirement, he had farmed and spent many years in the glass construction industry. Howard's memory will be cherished as a loving husband, "Daddy" and "PaPa."
Howard is survived by his wife, Helen Smith Chase of the home; daughter, Tracey Lynn Chase-Wolf of LaGrange; a son, Stacey Howard Chase and wife, Misty of Snow Hill; his mother, Mildred Chase Stroud of Snow Hill; a brother, Dennis Ray Chase and wife, Peggy of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Austin Tyler Chase and special friend, Christan Levinson, Ashleigh Elizabeth Chase and special friend, James "Fuzzy" Lancaster, Kelli Brianne Chase, and Emma Rose Chase; special niece, Paige Elizabeth Chase; special nephews, Devin Hart Chase and wife, Erica, and Derek Ray Chase and special friend, Stephanie Maupin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday immediately following the service and other times at the residence, 2008 Gurganus Road, Snow Hill, N.C.
