EVELYN H. BUTLER

MOUNT OLIVE -- Evelyn Herring Butler, 85, died Wednesday morning at SunBridge Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. H. Dennis Draper Jr. officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Butler was the widow of Edwin R. "Ping" Butler, and they were long time residents of East Willliamson St. in Mount Olive. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was employed for many years as a cashier with Thompson-Francis IGA Foodliner on South Church Street in Mount Olive.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Faye Butler of Mount Olive; a sister-in-law, Evelyn King of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews including Linda H. Kornegay of Mount Olive, Meredith Mozingo, of Grantham, and Steven Felzer, of Goldsboro.

She was a native of the Seven Springs area and was the youngest child born to her late parents, Charles F. and Luna Walker Herring. Her siblings, Charles G. Herring, Woodrow Herring, Sallie H. Grant, and Louise H. McCollum, all preceded her in death.

Friends are welcome to visit with Sandra in Room 106 at SunBridge Care Center in Mount Olive.
