BETTY L.U. FAULK

SOUTHERN PINES -- Betty Lou Underhill Faulk, 68, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Page Memorial United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, with the Rev. Ken Davenport officiating.

Born March 19, 1940, in Duplin County, N.C., to the late David Elwood Underhill and Sallie Christine Williamson Underhill, Ms. Faulk was an active member of Page Memorial United Methodist Church in Aberdeen where she was very involved with the Food Pantry. She retired in 1996 from CP&L Electric Co.

She was a member of the Moore County Republican Party. She was also an active member of the "Le Femme Rouge" Red Hat Society in Moore County.

She is survived by her son, Robert Faulk and wife, Kelley, of Stafford, Va.; a daughter, Susan Sweitzer and husband, Patrick, of Monroe, Ga.; two brothers, David Underhill and wife, Nancy, of Mount Olive, N.C., and James Underhill of Mount Olive; a sister, Iris Pate and husband, Donald, of Mount Olive; and one grandson, Samuel Sweitzer.

The family received friends Tuesday, June 24, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
