SEVEN SPRINGS -- Kathleen Smith Barwick, 82, 1664 Pineview Cemetery Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning.

Funeral services will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phillip Garrett officiating. The burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pineview Cemetery.

Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home immediately following tonight's service, and at other times at the home of John H. Barwick Jr., 1660 Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs.

She was a retired farm wife and homemaker, and had cared for many children in years past.

She was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Barwick; her parents, Bartemus and Katie Belle Dixon Smith; a daughter, Roseleen Brown Nethkin and Roseleen's first husband, Jimmy Brown.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris Evans of Goldsboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Joyce Mozingo of Goldsboro, Lewis and Joyce Barwick of Kinston and John Henry Jr. and Nan Barwick of Seven Springs; a son-in-law, Robert Nethkin of Seven Springs; two sisters, Louise Daly Shepherd of Goldsboro and Josephine Holland of Seven Springs; four brothers, Clarence Smith of Goldsboro, Relma M. "Smitty" Smith of Mount Olive, William E. Smith of Virginia Beach, Va., and Eugene C. Smith of Seven Springs; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
