Mrs. Cora Lee Capps Floars, 80, went to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 11, 2008.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dann Patrick, the Rev. Gerald Fowler and the Rev. Fred Carraway officiating.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Floars was born in Princeton, N.C., July 12, 1927, to the late Alfred and Hattie Woodard Capps.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy A. Floars; her brothers, Moulton Capps, Wilbert Capps, Robert Capps, Earl Capps and Clarence Capps; and sisters, Addie Capps Booth and Esther Capps Whitley.

Mrs. Floars was a charter member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. She came from a musical family and loved music, especially the old gospel songs. Mrs. Floars played the piano for several quartets and trios in her early years, and later served as one of the first pianists for Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

She was a hairstylist for many years, and later worked as manager of Bobby Floars Real Estate Rentals until her retirement in December 2003 at the age of 76.

After her retirement, she enjoyed her home near her daughter, Brenda and family, where she welcomed her friends and family.

The love of her life was her family and she is survived by her children who lovingly cared for her, Donny Floars and wife, Pat, of Wilmington, Brenda Floars Fowler and husband, the Rev. Gerald Fowler, of LaGrange and Kevin Floars and wife, Janet, of Clayton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who were her joy, Gray Floars and wife, Robin, Taylor Floars, Amanda Fowler, Adam Fowler and wife, Toni, Nicholas, Emily, Christopher and Jacob Floars.

Also, she loved and was loved by many special nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and a special sister-in-law, Ruby Wilkins Floars.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 6260 Washington St., LaGrange, N.C., 28551.

In addition to the formal visitation, the family will receive friends at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Fowler, 3109 New Hope Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.

She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and looked to him for her strength throughout the years. She faithfully prayed for her family and friends and all those whom she came to know and love. God has tenderly ushered home a precious lady.
