Martha Sutton Wooten Yelverton, 97, 782 Old N.C. Hwy 111, Goldsboro, N.C., died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Britthaven of Goldsboro in Goldsboro, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 2008, at noon at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, with Elder James E. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery North, 1191 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
Martha was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Wayne County to the late Joe and Sue Sutton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Yelverton, and two sons, Robert and Willie Sutton Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her granddaughter, Joyce and husband, James Robinson, with whom she lived, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be conducted Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. Also, a wake will be held Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m., with the family in attendance to receive other family members and friends.
At other times, the family will be receiving family members and friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Robinson, 782 Old N.C. Hwy 111, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
