WILLIAM G. "BILL" JARRELL

William Garland "Bill" Jarrell, 85, 149 Stoney Hill Road, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel.

Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was the husband of the late Virginia Inez Mitchell Jarrell.

He was a retired police officer with the Charlotte Police Department and a life member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and the United States Air Force, having served during World War II as a gunner on the B-17.

Mr. Jarrell is survived by his son, William R. Jarrell and wife, Nanette, of Goldsboro; and two grandsons, John Daniel Jarrell and James Mitchell Jarrell both of Goldsboro.

Family members will greet friends Thursday at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.
