JOHNSTON COUNTY -- Irene Wadsworth Knuckles, 93, Britthaven of Smithfield, died Monday evening at Britthaven.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church, 5444 Brogden Road, Smithfield, with the Rev. Craig Langdon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was born Jan. 20, 1915, to the late George and Lillie Holmes Wadsworth. She was the widow of the late Thomas Knuckles.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Knuckles of Smithfield; two daughters, Janet Mozingo of Smithfield and Patsy Pearce of Goldsboro; a brother, Harvey Wadsworth of Smithfield; two sisters, Ruby Collins of Smithfield and Betty Worley of Smithfield; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church in Smithfield.
