Retired Senior Master Sgt. Dennis Edward Baker Jr., loving son and brother, was called from his earthly labors to receive eternal rewards Monday, May 19, 2008.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home of Goldsboro. Burial will be in Millwood Cemetery.

He was born to the Rev. D.E. and Hattie Baker Dec. 26, 1938.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

He attended Dudley Elementary School and graduated from Carver High School in Mount Olive. In addition to receiving a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Troy State, Dennis served honorably in the United States Air Force for 28 years. During his military service, he also obtained a master's degree in business administration.

He leaves to cherish his memory four brothers, Carland Y. (Sophia) Baker of Long Beach, Miss., William R. (Geraldine) Baker of North Charleston, S.C., James G. (Angela) Baker of Seattle, Wash., and Ronald L.D. Baker of Mount Olive; a sister, Shirlene F. (Jimmy Sims) Baker of Goldsboro; a special cousin, Mary McCarter of Raleigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends at 310 Miller St., Goldsboro, Thursday and Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
