NELLIE G. OUTLAW

Nellie Gray Outlaw, 91, passed away Thursday evening at Sun Bridge Nursing Home in Mount Olive.

Funeral services will be held at Shumate-Faulk funeral home Saturday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Daughtry officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

She was born in Greene County to the late Felix and Mae Gray Rouse and was the widow of Roy Outlaw. A member of Mays Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, she played the organ for 75 years as well as teaching Sunday school and was retired from Wayne County Schools.

She is survived by a daughter, Edythe Blanton and husband, Arnold, of Dudley; two sons, Jimmy Outlaw and wife, Virginia, of Dudley and Bobby Outlaw and fiancee, Nancy Daughtry, of Dudley; grandchildren, Tammy Hayes and husband, Keith, Alan Outlaw and wife, Angie, Candee Bryan and husband, Eason, Gray Outlaw and wife, Shonda, Christa Coates and husband, Kelvin "JayBird," Marcia Belding and husband, Jeff; and great grandchildren, Brittney Shaeffer, Kayla Outlaw, Jackson Hayes, Kelsey Hayes, Alanna Outlaw, Marshall Outlaw, Mary Grayce Outlaw, Sarah Bryan, Jake Coates and Norwood Bryan.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
