HENRY R. JOHNSON

Henry Ralph Johnson departed this life to join his Lord on Monday.
He was born in Goldsboro, N.C., the son of the late Henry and Rooney Batten Johnson.
He attended high school in Goldsboro and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1952.
Mr. Johnson served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant and aviator during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Louise Shelley Johnson; two sons; four daughters; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Helen Elliott of Fayetteville, N.C.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Oleander Memorial Gardens by Dr. Matt Highfill.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
