WALTER B. FRY JR.

Walter B. Fry Jr., 83, of 2338 Old Grantham Road, died Wednesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Walter was born in Greenville, Tenn., to the late Walter B. Fry Sr. and Anna Novella Epperson Fry. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and had also served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. Walter served his country during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mill Creek Masonic Lodge No. 125 A.F. & A.M. and the Scottish Rite Bodies 32nd Degree KCCH. Walter was a member of Providence United Metho-dist Church. He enjoyed being "Papa" to his grandchildren and loved wood working. In later years, Walter enjoyed traveling to Navy reunions.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon Brown and the Rev. Dr. Jerry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors and with Masonic Rites.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Williams Fry; his daughter, Lisa F. Coone and husband, Randy, of Goldsboro; his sons, David W. Fry and wife, Toni, of Goldsboro, Darryl W. Fry and wife, Karla, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Amy Coone, Sally Anna Coone, Eugene Walter Coone, Maddux Scott Fry; his uncles, Henry Porter Epperson of Salisbury, James B. Epperson of Florida; his aunt, Univee E. Wallace of Charlotte; his cousins, W.D. Fry, Clifford Fry, Lawrence Fry, Phyllis Verran, all of Tennessee; and several other cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Kay Fry.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 202 Providence Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the parlor at Providence United Methodist Church and other times at their home.
