NORMA S. BARRETT
Norma Spikes Barrett, 75, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, at her residence.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Gene Carpenter will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Barrett was born in Rutherford County on Jan. 8, 1933, to the late Dr. L.E. and Cammie Spikes. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church where she was the chairman over serving food to bereaving families.
She is survived by her son, Norman Alexander Barrett of Rocky Mount, Va.; one sister, Camilla Ruffin of Greensboro; and a host of wonderful friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Syer Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834 or the SPCA.
