THEONA K. BUMGARDNER

CHARLOTTE -- Mrs. Bumgardner, 85, died Friday at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center. Services will be at a later date.
Born in Faison, N.C., Mrs. Bumgardner was one of 10 daughters born to the late Herbert Laughton Hines and Inez Oates Hines. She retired as a registered nurse and was a longtime member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bumgardner was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Marshall Bumgardner; a daughter, Karen Camille Bumgardner; and six sisters, Margaret Scott, Signa Drewry, Kathleen Hatcher, Georgianna Burch, Herby Jones and Sallie Britt.
She is survived by a son, Hunter Bumgardner Jr. of Natchez, Miss.; a daughter, Signa Williams and her husband, Floyd, of Gatesville; two grandchildren, Jesse Williams of Wilmington and Ian Williams of Raleigh; and three sisters, Malinda Sutton of Mount Olive, Evelyn Warren of Faison and Gwen Jones of Dudley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association-Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28215-3220.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff of Wilora Lake Healthcare Center for the loving and compassionate care shown Mrs. Bumgardner.
